Bit interface matters. SDS‑Max shanks are common for medium tools and quick changes; 1‑1/8 in. hex shanks dominate large pavement breakers. Keep a small set of bits on hand: pointed for starting fractures, flat chisel for controlled lines, scaling or spade for tile and thinset, and wide scrapers for adhesive or flooring.
