It takes a bit more time to cycle a battery than the brand’s rapid chargers, and the battery needs a firm push to latch; both trade-offs are reasonable for a kit charger meant to live in a bag.

For delicate work, you’ll still want to rely on the trigger and clutch on a drill/driver when precision depth matters. The Atomic driver can overdrive tiny screws in softwood if you’re not careful. For mid-sized fasteners and hardware, it provides consistent seating with less cam-out than a drill set to high.

Build quality and durability

Fit and finish are solid. The overmold lines up cleanly, the LED ring is well-protected, and the anvil has held up to repeated bit swaps with no noticeable play developing. Brushless motors shine in these compact housings, not just for runtime but for longevity—less heat, fewer wear components, and better efficiency. I haven’t babied this tool; it’s been tossed in a bag, knocked around a plywood subfloor, and bumped along ladders. No complaints so far.

What I’d change

• Single mode only: I’d love a low-speed/precision mode for sheet metal screws and tiny hardware. The trigger mostly covers it, but assist modes are genuinely useful on some tasks.
• Bigger battery option: The 2.0Ah pack keeps the tool compact, but a second pack in the kit—or an option with a 4.0Ah—would be handy for heavier days.
• Charger speed: The included charger is adequate, not fast. Pros with a busy charging bench will want a higher-output charger.
• Case: The soft bag is fine for the kit, but a molded case with bit storage would organize better for some users.
