• Hit structure. For wood, that means studs or blocking; for masonry, proper embedment with the right anchors. If you’re unsure, consult a local pro or building inspector.
• Mind clearances. Follow your unit’s manual for side, rear, and top spacing. More space is rarely a bad idea.
• Plan condensate routing and defrost drainage so nothing drips onto walkways or framing.
• If mounting on siding, add stand-offs or a ledger to keep the bracket square and prevent crushing the siding profile.
