Ryobi Rolling Base

Rolling around my workshop has never been easier since I started using the Ryobi Rolling Base. This tool has been a game-changer in terms of mobility and organization. One minor gripe I have is with the design of the carrying handles on each storage module. The handles are positioned such that using them turns the entire module on its side. This can be problematic, especially if the contents are not securely packed. It would have been more convenient if there were side handholds to facilitate carrying the storage modules upright.

I’ve found it less suited for moving heavy-duty tools, but for lighter items, it performs admirably. The wide wheels are another highlight, handling bumps and even mud without any trouble.

One of the more subjective aspects of the Rolling Base is its visual appeal. Personally, I think it looks great, but I’ve heard mixed opinions from others. Some find it a bit plain, but I believe its functionality more than makes up for any aesthetic shortcomings.

In terms of value, the Rolling Base is a bit on the pricey side for what is essentially a piece of molded plastic with four casters. However, considering its build quality and the convenience it offers, I believe it is worth the investment. It has certainly made my life easier by allowing me to move heavy items around the workshop without straining my back.

I’ve noticed that some of the other modules for this storage system are not always in stock, which can be frustrating when trying to complete the setup. Hopefully, Ryobi addresses this issue soon to ensure that all components are readily available.

Overall, I would highly recommend the Ryobi Rolling Base to anyone who is already invested in the Ryobi Link ecosystem or is looking for a reliable and versatile storage solution. Its robust build, smooth mobility, and compatibility with modular storage make it a valuable addition to any workshop. While it may have a few minor drawbacks, the benefits far outweigh them, making it a worthy investment for both DIY enthusiasts and professionals alike.
