TJOY Edison Light Bulbs 60W Equivalent, Dimmable Vintage LED Light Bulbs, E26 Medium Base, Warm White 2700K, ST58, 8W, 800LM, 80+ CRI, Antique Decorative LED Filament, Clear Glass, 4 Pack Review
Why I reached for these bulbs
I’ve rotated through a lot of “Edison-style” LEDs over the years, and many of them get one thing right at the expense of another—either they look great but are too dim, or they’re bright enough but lose the vintage charm. The TJOY ST58 LED Edison bulbs strike an unusually good balance for everyday living: classic, clear-glass filaments with real 60W-equivalent output and modern dimming that behaves the way I want it to.
I installed the four-pack across a small mix of fixtures—a hallway semi-flush, a living-room pendant, a bedroom sconce, and a covered porch lantern—to get a sense of consistency and compatibility. The short version: they look the part, they’re genuinely bright, and they run cool and quiet.
Design and build
These are ST58-shaped, clear-glass bulbs with visible LED filaments and a standard E26 base. The proportions are nicely “vintage” without being oversized, so they fit where traditional A19s would, but they look better in open or clear-shade fixtures where the filament design can be seen. The glass is completely clear (not amber-tinted), which keeps the output closer to a true 2700K warm white instead of the pumpkin-orange glow you get from some decorative lamps.
Build quality feels solid for the category. The base threads cleanly and the glass envelopes on my set were free of bubbles or distortion. One practical note: clear glass shows dust and fingerprints; if you’re using them in exposed fixtures, give them a wipe after installation for the best look.
Brightness and color
Each bulb is rated at 800 lumens at 2700K, and subjectively they behave like a proper 60W incandescent replacement. In a hallway fixture, one lamp was enough to eliminate the dim, amber haze I’ve seen from many decorative options. In the living room pendant, two lamps provided ample general illumination without tipping into clinical “bright white.”
Color-wise, 2700K is a comfortable warm white—cozy enough for bedrooms and living spaces yet still perfectly usable for tasks like reading. The bulbs are spec’d at 80+ CRI, which is typical for value-forward LEDs. Skin tones and wood finishes looked natural in my rooms; if you’re doing color-critical work or prefer the extra pop of 90+ CRI, you’ll want a different class of bulb, but for general residential use these look reassuringly familiar.
Dimming performance
Dimming is the make-or-break feature for most decorative bulbs, and these do well. TJOY claims compatibility with the vast majority of dimmers and a 10–100% range. On a modern, LED-rated wall dimmer, I saw a smooth ramp with no audible buzzing or humming and no visible stepping. On an older, non-LED rotary dimmer, the range narrowed a bit and there was a slight shimmer right at the bottom end—still usable, but it’s a reminder that dimmer pairing matters. Once above the low end, performance was quiet and stable in both setups.
If you’re planning to run these very low in a dining room or a media space, use a contemporary, LED-compatible dimmer to get the best experience and the quietest operation.
Energy and heat
At 8 watts per bulb, the efficiency story is straightforward: you get 60W-class brightness at a fraction of the power and heat. After an evening of use, the glass was warm but nowhere near the hot-to-the-touch surface temperature of incandescents. That lower heat output matters in enclosed or small fixtures where heat buildup shortens bulb life and can discolor shades.
TJOY’s operating cost estimate—under a dollar per year at 3 hours per day and $0.11/kWh—tracks with typical LED math. I can’t validate the full 15,000-hour life claim in a short review window, but between the cool operation and the brand’s one-year warranty, I’m comfortable slotting these into fixtures that are annoying to service.
Installation and compatibility
Standard E26 bases mean they drop into most household sockets without fuss. The ST58 envelope is a touch taller than a basic A19, so check clearance if your fixture uses a tight globe or a narrow shade. They looked particularly good in open pendants and cage fixtures where the filament lines are part of the aesthetic.
For damp locations, I used one under a covered porch in a weather-protected lantern and had no issues. As with most LED lamps, I avoid fully enclosed fixtures unless the manufacturer explicitly rates the bulb for that use; it’s not specified here, so I treat these as best for open or ventilated fixtures. If you want them in a sealed globe or can, consider the potential impact on lifespan.
Light quality in real rooms
- Living room pendant: Two bulbs provided warm, even light for conversation and reading. At mid-dim, the ambience was spot on for movie night without looking murky.
- Bedroom sconce: One bulb on a dimmer created a cozy bedtime setting. The low end was smooth and flicker-free with a modern dimmer, perfect for winding down.
- Hallway semi-flush: A single bulb eliminated shadows and made artwork on the wall look natural. No cold cast or green tint.
- Covered porch lantern: The filament aesthetic felt purposeful rather than kitschy, and the 2700K color didn’t attract bugs the way some cooler LEDs tend to.
Certifications, lifespan, and warranty
The UL listing is the key certification I look for; it’s here, along with RoHS and FCC markings. The rated 15,000-hour life is modest compared to premium 25,000+ hour lamps, but realistic for filament-style LEDs, which often run hotter than plastic-diffused designs. TJOY backs the bulbs with a one-year warranty, which is standard for this price tier and gives some peace of mind if an early failure crops up.
What I like
- Authentic filament look without the overly amber color cast
- Real 60W-equivalent brightness (800 lm) that can still be dimmed for mood
- Quiet, smooth dimming on LED-rated controls; no buzzing in my installs
- Efficient 8W draw and noticeably cooler operation than incandescents
- UL listed with a sensible warranty, and a practical 4-pack for multi-fixture updates
- Consistent color between bulbs; no oddball outliers in the set I tested
What could be better
- 80+ CRI is fine, but not for color-critical spaces; a 90+ option would be welcome
- Clear glass can produce direct filament glare in eye-level fixtures unless you dim
- Slight shimmer at the very lowest settings on an older, non-LED dimmer
- No explicit rating for fully enclosed fixtures; I’d avoid them to preserve lifespan
Who these bulbs are for
If you’re updating pendants, chandeliers, sconces, or porch lanterns and want a classic filament look with everyday practicality, these make a lot of sense. They’re bright enough to serve as primary lighting in smaller rooms, yet they dim nicely for restaurants-at-home vibes. They also work well if you’re standardizing on 2700K throughout a house and don’t want to juggle separate “decorative” and “functional” bulbs.
If you need higher color accuracy for a studio or want tunable-white or smart control, look elsewhere. And if your fixtures are fully enclosed with poor ventilation, I’d choose an LED specifically rated for that environment.
Recommendation
I recommend the TJOY ST58 LED Edison bulbs for anyone who wants vintage aesthetics without sacrificing everyday usability. They look great in exposed fixtures, produce a true 60W-equivalent warm white, and dim quietly with modern controls. The efficiency gains and cooler operation are substantial, the UL listing inspires confidence, and the four-pack format makes it economical to refresh a room’s fixtures in one go. The trade-offs—80+ CRI, some sensitivity to older dimmers, and caution with fully enclosed fixtures—are reasonable for the category. For most living spaces, these strike an excellent balance of style, performance, and value.
