Mounting an ultra-large display is equal parts logistics and nerve. The Home Vision 9801 mount took most of the anxiety out of the process for me, and it’s become the bracket I reach for when a big, heavy panel needs a clean, tilt-only install.

Build quality and hardware

The first thing I noticed is the steel thickness and the overall stiffness of the wall plate and rails. There’s no flex or rattle when you pick up the assembly; the welds are clean and the black finish is even and scratch-resistant. The rail interface on the wall plate is wide and smooth, which makes lateral centering of the TV easy once the plate is up.

Adjustability and day-to-day use

This is a tilt-only design, and it does that job well. The range—10° down, 5° up—is practical for managing reflections and optimizing viewing height when the panel sits higher on the wall. The tilt adjusters are hand-tightened, so I could dial in the angle without tools.

On very large screens, reaching the tilt knobs after the TV is hung can be tight. My workaround was to preset a slight downward tilt before lifting the panel into place, then make small corrections afterward. Once tightened, the tilt stays put and doesn’t drift when the TV is bumped.

Compatibility and limits

The VESA support (up to 800x600 mm) covers the majority of big screens on the market, including many 98–100 inch models. My panel’s 600x400 pattern fell well within spec. If you’re at the 120-inch end—or using a commercial display with an unusual pattern—measure carefully. The weight rating is 200 lb, which is plenty for modern consumer TVs. I would treat that number as a hard limit even though the company claims much higher lab test loads; your wall, fasteners, and installation quality matter as much as the bracket.

The mount accommodates 16, 18, and 24-inch studs out of the box, a real advantage in newer construction where 24-inch spacing is common. Concrete or brick installs are possible only with appropriate anchors rated for the load; I stuck to wood studs.

Living with it

Once installed, the mount essentially disappears—a good thing. There’s no creaking, no bounce when you press lightly on the frame, and no visible hardware from normal viewpoints. The pull cords for the locks are long enough to reach comfortably; I tucked them behind the bezel after release to keep them out of sight, then pulled them down again only when I needed to remove the TV for cable changes.

Because this is a tilting mount, you’re not getting swivel or extension. If you need to aim the TV toward multiple seating positions or service rear ports routinely, a full-motion arm is the better tool. For a single seating zone where the priority is a clean look and rock-solid support, the 9801 is the right fit.

What could be better

• Access to tilt knobs on giant panels: On 90–100 inch screens, the knobs sit close to the wall and can be hard to reach. Pre-setting tilt helps. Longer, more ergonomic knobs would make mid-install tweaks easier.
• Clearance versus outlets: The low profile looks great but can clash with standard, non-recessed outlets behind the set. Plan for a recessed box or low-profile plug if your outlet isn’t offset.
• No lateral swivel or extension: Expected in this category, but worth calling out. Make sure tilt-only suits your viewing needs.

Safety notes

Two reminders that bear repeating with displays of this size:
- Always mount into studs, not drywall. Use the included lag bolts and follow the torque guidance closely; over-tightening can compromise hold just as much as under-tightening.
- Lift with enough hands, and protect the screen edges. These panels are unwieldy more than they are dense; the mount will hold it, but you need to get it there safely.

Value

For a bracket that spans 24-inch studs, supports VESA to 800x600, and genuinely holds very large screens without flex, the Home Vision 9801 delivers strong value.
