INCLY 4 Pack Pegboard Baskets Bins Set, 4 Size Square Style Black Metal Wire Basket for Any Peg Board Organizing Tools, Pegboard Accessories for Workbench Garage Wall Storage Attachments Review
Why I reached for these baskets
Modular storage on a pegboard only works if the accessories pull their weight. I needed a set of wire baskets that could handle everything from tape measures and seed packets to spray cans and tool batteries without wobble or sag. The INCLY pegboard baskets promised a simple formula: four square, steel wire baskets in sensible sizes, robust hooks, and a corrosion-resistant finish. After a few weeks rotating them through my garage wall, a potting bench, and a laundry setup, I’ve got a clear picture of where they shine—and a few caveats.
What’s in the set
You get four square-profile baskets in progressively larger footprints. Actual interior volume tracks closely with the listed sizes, and the right-angle sides make more of the space usable than tapered wire bins do.
- S: 10.5 x 4.5 x 3 in
- M: 11.5 x 5.5 x 3.75 in
- L: 12.5 x 6.5 x 4 in
- XL: 13.5 x 7.5 x 4.5 in
In practice:
- S is perfect for hand tools, tape measures, safety glasses, seed packets, zip ties, and rolls of tape.
- M takes aerosol cans, bottles of glue, oilers, and small fastener boxes.
- L fits quart bottles, boxed inner tubes, small paint trays, and multiple drill batteries.
- XL will hold a row of spray cans, stacked organizers, or bulky items like sanding disks. Tall containers (gallon jugs, big detergent bottles) ride high but sit securely.
There’s no assembly. They hang out of the box.
Build and design
The baskets are made from hardened steel wire with a smooth, black, corrosion-resistant coating. Welds are consistent and clean—no burrs or sharp snags to catch gloves or fabric. The top rim is a thicker gauge and noticeably stiff; that reinforced upper wire prevents the lip from spreading when the basket is loaded.
The “square style” is more than an aesthetic choice. Straight sides let you line items up and use the corners efficiently. Compared with moderate-taper baskets I’ve used, these hold more in the same wall footprint and don’t encourage cans to roll toward the center. Depth is well-judged too: you can grab frequently used items without fishing around.
Hooks and stability
Hook design is often the weak point on pegboard accessories. On this set, the two smaller baskets hang on a two-peg bracket, while the larger two use a four-peg bracket. That split makes sense: the big baskets benefit from the wider stance and extra contact points. On both types, the prongs are thick and snug in standard 1" on-center boards. I didn’t need to bend or pinch any hooks to stop rattling.
Loaded stability is solid. The XL basket, packed with six lithium tool batteries, stayed level and didn’t flex in a worrying way. There is some deflection if you push down on the outer lip, but it’s minimal and within normal expectations for wire construction. The limiting factor isn’t the basket—it's your board and how it’s mounted.
Capacity and load handling
Each basket is rated for up to 30 lb. I didn’t try to max that out on every size, but the L and XL easily handled weighty mixes of batteries, fasteners, and liquids. Real-world advice:
- If your pegboard is flimsy, your studs are far apart, or you’re relying on adhesive mounts, you’ll run out of board integrity long before the basket calls it quits.
- On fiberboard pegboard, I get the best results with furring strips or a cleat system and plenty of screws into studs.
- On metal boards, the baskets hang cleanly, but peg locks or clips help prevent accidental lift when you tug out heavy items.
Compatibility notes
The baskets are designed for 1" spacing and work on both 1/8" and 1/4" pegboards. I tested them on:
- Standard tempered hardboard (1/4" holes): excellent fit.
- Steel pegboard panels (Wall Control type): fit was good using the round-holes/slots; prongs seated reliably.
- IKEA Skadis: not compatible; the hole pattern and peg diameter are different.
If your setup is anything other than standard 1" on-center pegboard, measure first. The prongs are stout, which is great for rigidity but leaves little wiggle room for off-spec boards.
Day-to-day use
I cycled the set through a few stations to see where each size earns its keep.
- Garage wall: The M and L baskets became spray-can and lubricant holders. The straight sides let me stand cans two deep without tipping. The S basket sat near the vise with chalk, a deburring tool, and markers.
- Potting bench: The XL basket swallowed hand trowels, pruning shears in sheaths, a mister, and garden gloves. The wire grid let soil dust fall through instead of collecting.
- Laundry area: The L and XL held detergent pods, stain remover, dryer sheets, and a couple small microfiber stacks. The low front lip height keeps tall bottles easy to pull without lifting over a high rim.
Wire baskets won’t contain tiny parts on their own. For small hardware I drop in a cut piece of corrugated plastic or a shallow organizer tray; a section of shelf liner also works. That simple tweak turns the S basket into a reliable catcher for loose fixings without losing the ventilation and visibility you want from open wire.
Installation and setup tips
A few practical pointers helped me get the most out of the set:
- Anchor the board properly. Use a ledger or standoffs so the hooks can fully engage, and hit studs with wood screws or use appropriate anchors for masonry.
- Lock the hooks if you can. Plastic peg locks or a zip tie through one hook hole will stop the basket from jumping off when you pull something heavy.
- Mind the lever arm. Heavier storage belongs lower on the board. Put the XL basket within elbow height and keep the top row for light items.
- Label and line as needed. A strip of painter’s tape on the rim makes quick labels. For small stuff, add a removable liner.
Durability and finish
After exposure to humidity and the usual garage grime, the coating has held up—no rust blooms at weld points, and the black finish wipes clean. I did manage to scuff a corner by dragging it against a shelving post; the mark was cosmetic and didn’t chip into bare metal. The baskets nest tightly in the box, which saves space but can lead to slight squishing in transit. Mine arrived straight, but if you do see minor bends, the wire is forgiving enough to true up by hand.
Where they fall short
- Not for Skadis. If your storage wall is IKEA’s system, look elsewhere; the geometry just doesn’t match.
- No built-in lock. The hooks rely on gravity and friction. That’s normal for pegboard hardware, but I wish a few plastic locks were included.
- Wire grid gaps. Small loose items need a liner or an insert bin to keep them from slipping through, which adds a step for organizing tiny hardware.
None of these are dealbreakers for standard pegboard users, but they’re worth calling out.
Value and who they’re for
There are cheaper wire baskets out there, but most cut corners on hook thickness, rim stiffness, or finish. This set earns its keep with:
- A sensible size spread that covers most household, shop, and garden use cases.
- Strong, square geometry that makes the space genuinely usable.
- Hooks that don’t need tinkering to sit flat and stay put.
If you’re outfitting a garage wall, a craft room, or a potting bench, this four-pack covers a lot of ground without hunting for matching accessories. If your needs are exclusively tiny parts, dedicated small-parts bins will be a better fit; otherwise, these make a versatile backbone.
Recommendation
I recommend the INCLY pegboard baskets for anyone running a standard 1" pegboard (hardboard or metal) who wants sturdy, no-drama baskets with real load capacity. They’re well-built, the square design maximizes usable volume, and the hook hardware inspires confidence. Just be sure your pegboard is properly anchored and plan to add liners for very small items. If you’re on IKEA Skadis, these won’t fit; for everyone else in the standard pegboard world, this set is a reliable, worthwhile upgrade.
